Why video downloads fail: a practical checklist
Distinguish a restricted source, a busy service, an expired download link and a broken connection, then retry without bypassing platform protections.

Download a TikTok video as MP4
A failed video download can come from the source platform, the preparation service or the connection to your device. Start by checking whether the video is still accessible and whether you are allowed to save it. Do not assume that a playable web page guarantees anonymous download access from a server.
Check the exact link
Use the address of an individual supported video, Reel or post. Profiles, search results, photo-only posts and collections are different kinds of pages. A shared caption can contain a valid link, but the underlying post still needs an accessible video.
Open the source's normal page to confirm that it exists. A deleted post or expired share link needs a new valid source address, not repeated retries of the same request. Never enter passwords, session cookies or private credentials into a downloader.
Understand source restrictions
Platforms can require login, restrict an account, apply regional checks or block automated server requests. Their responses can change over time. An extractor supporting a platform does not guarantee every video will work from every server address.
VidFetch does not bypass these restrictions. If a source refuses access, use its official export or download option for your own material when available. Do not try to defeat a paywall, access control or technical protection.
A busy service is a different problem
Preparing and converting media uses resources. VidFetch keeps one media operation active at a time, with a bounded waiting queue where configured. A full queue, a quota or a maximum wait can cause a request to be declined.
If the interface shows a wait, leave the request open or cancel it rather than submitting duplicates in several tabs. A wait estimate is only an estimate. A longer or slower source can delay the next request.
Download links are temporary
A prepared transfer is authorized briefly and is intended for one use. Keeping an old link or copying it to another person can fail because it has expired, has already been consumed or belongs to another browser authorization.
Return to the tool and prepare a new download when needed. Do not publish transfer links. This protects the service and avoids retaining a permanent publicly reusable file URL.
Check incomplete transfers
A network change, closed tab or device interruption can terminate streaming. The bytes saved before interruption are not evidence of a successful download. Check the file's duration and playback, including its ending.
If a complete file does not play on a phone, investigate container and codec compatibility. If only audio is needed, choose an audio option rather than changing a video extension to MP3.
Common questions
Should I retry immediately many times?
No. Check the error and source first. Repeated requests can use quotas and increase waiting without resolving a restriction.
Can VidFetch guarantee that every supported platform works?
No. Supported URL validation and source availability are separate. Platform behavior, network conditions and service limits affect each request.
